E.T. landed in 1982, a time when today's youngsters weren't even born, but the funny-looking creature that stole the heart of the universe then is still much loved now--apparently due to VHS and DVD. E.T.'s long glowing finger still holds the same mystique, and his kind alien face still beckons a sincere hug and an understanding smile. If watching Steven Spielberg's most memorable film isn't enough for 21st-century tots, then maybe this plush reincarnation of Elliot's best bud will make up the difference. He's soft, sweet, realistic (his wrinkled neck can move up and down), and he's just big enough to hold during the movie without blocking the screen. --Diane Beall
